This Bethany Beach project combined a full home remodel with a carefully designed two-story addition. The original 792 sq ft cottage was expanded by 1,598 sq ft, creating a spacious 2,390 sq ft coastal home for a growing family. Working in collaboration with RDA Architects, our team modernized the entire home while preserving its beach-home character and charm.

The original home offered 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms, limited storage, and a layout that no longer met the homeowners’ needs. The family wanted more room for guests, updated finishes, and a functional floor plan that supported beach weekends, summer gatherings, and everyday living.
The entire home was updated with a bright, coastal aesthetic and thoughtful pops of color inspired by the homeowners’ green vintage bath fixtures. Exposed wood plank ceilings were added in all bedrooms and throughout the living and kitchen areas to bring warmth, texture, and visual cohesion to both the original home and the new addition.
Inside, the remodeled kitchen features a refreshed layout, durable finishes, and a statement tile backsplash. Each bathroom highlights its own unique statement tile, giving the home a layered, personality-filled feel. Additional bedrooms created through the addition offer light, airy retreats designed for easy coastal living.
What was once a compact cottage is now a spacious, functional, and welcoming beach home.
